Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas! This was John's first Christmas. He used to not mind hats, but now he is not so sure about them. He was taking off his Santa hat.

John was enjoying being outside at his grandparents house. He is wearing his new, cool New Balance tennis shoes that his MiMi bought him.

John was opening one of his presents Christmas morning. He got a lot of presents from family, friends, and Santa. (His parents gave him presents at home.)

John fit perfectly in MiMi's sink for his baths.

A relaxing New Years Eve:

Frosty the Snowman

There is a contest for the best door decorations in our apartment complex. There will be 3 winners. Each winner will get a gift card for $100 to the mall. If we don't win, I had fun putting the snowman together and John had fun trying to eat the scraps of the foam board.

John is pulling up on everything these days and taking steps holding on. He has gotten very confident at holding on without hands for 4 or 5 seconds.

John turned 9 months yesterday.

I took John to the mall again to try and see if he would happily sit on Santa's lap. He still did not like Santa. I don't think I will try again until next year. When we were leaving Santa, I saw this painted scene and decided to sit John in front of it. I thought it was cute.

John has been enjoying feeding himself banana puffs.

It turns out John can fall asleep just about anywhere.....even his highchair. He doesn't want to sleep in his bed, but the bathtub or highchair will do just fine.

Bubbles Bubbles Everywhere

John is so funny. I put vapor bath wash in the tub and he loved the bubbles. He had the best time. He laughed and played for a while. I guess it is the little things in life.

Lagniappe Pictures

We went to a store and I wanted to get this rocking chair for John. He seemed to really like it. However, we didn't get it because we were worried it might break on the way home.

A picture form the beach, Playa Blanca.

John's first Thanksgiving. He said he would try turket next year.

Costa Rica

We went to Costa Rica for the week of Thanksgiving. John Paul's grandmother turned 90 and we went to celebrate her birthday. We visited, went her birthday party, and went to the beach. It was an experience and a lot of fun. We stayed with John Paul's aunt. John loved playing on the floor with the toys that she had for him.

There were people dressed in costume on stilts at the party. John Paul's grandmother is on the left and his aunt is on the right. They had a lot of fun.

John, who normally can't sleep through much, managed to sleep through a mariachi band.

John played with his cousin Megan.

The beach was a lot of fun. It was beautiful!

We went to a breakfast buffet and we had some entertainment. There were monkeys everywhere and they were not scared of people.

One of them jumped on a table and stole sugar packets. The next morning they were so hungry that a waiter came over with a basket and threw them some food.

Go Saints!

We had a lazy Sunday. We switched today and watched football all day instead of Nascar. We will have to catch up on Nascar tomorrow. We finally got a Saints game. John fell asleep before it was over. He briefly woke up and cried. He then saw his Ralphie, hugged him and fell back asleep.

Tree Lighting Event

Last night we went to The Avenue to watch them light the 35 foot Christmas tree. We went with Preston, John's friend from Gymboree. Preston's mom and dad came too. It was fun. There were a lot of people there. There was a band, and after they lit the tree, they passed out Christmas CD's.

In the Holiday Spirit (a little early)

We went to visit Santa today. John told him he wanted his 2 top or 2 bottom teeth for Christmas. After this picture was taken John looked at Santa and cried. We are going to go back again this week to try for a smile.

John was trying on one of his Christmas outfits.

It was pretty cold outside when this picture was taken. We were getting ready to go run errands.

8 Months Old

John got a walker yesterday. He hasn't walked in it yet, but he does love the toys on it.

John and his teething cow blanket.

John has gotten so big! If you tell him to give you a kiss, he leans forward and kisses you. He also loves if you put him on the floor and then tell him your going to get him. He gets excited and begins to quickly crawl and looks back to see how close you are.

We are waiting for trick or treaters right now. We haven't had any yet. If we don't get many, we have a lot of candy to eat.

Pumpkin Day at Gymboree

We went to Gymboree today. Most of the babies wore costumes. They were all so cute.
John is near the middle. The picture is sort of small, but if you click on the picture, it enlarges. I ran an errand before going to Gymboree and many people said, "Awww, look at the cute pumkin." I thought he was cute too!

John and his Momma and Gymbo.

John was sitting in something to practice standing up. He did stand up, but he never let the spider go. It must have tasted good.

Gymboree wore him out.

Naptime in the Huber household

Lots of fun with MiMi and Nanny

We did lots of shopping!

John enjoyed himself!!

John got his first taste of a sugar free popsicle. He LOVED it.

MiMi, Nanny, and John.

MiMi came with us to Gymboree.

John's first visit to the aquarium

This section of the aquarium really got John's attention. He liked watching the turtles, two small alligators and fish swim.
